How some Americans have avoided homelessness by living in a vehicle.

In March 2021, I traveled to Quartzsite, Arizona where the Oscar-winning movie Nomadland was filmed. Every year, a number of Americans avoid homelessness by moving into RVs or vans. I interviewed Bob Wells, who appears as himself in Nomadland and who has inspired many to pursue a new kind of lifestyle. Is vehicle living a solution to the homelessness crisis, a symptom of it, or both? Project Turtle will explore this and other creative approaches to preventing and curing homelessness in America.
